The performing arts have always been a special part of my life, but since college I’ve had to condense my hobbies to make room for adulthood. Once COVID-19 sent us all into lockdown, I lost my ability to enjoy and perform dance and theater like I used to. While at home visiting family, I turned to piano to try and fill this need. As a child I’d taken on and off lessons, and as an adult I’ve dabbled in an attempt to self-teach. While I’ve still got a long ways to go, I’ve definitely seen a large improvement in my playing over quarantine. I’m incredibly thankful to my keyboard for giving me a creative outlet in these Unprecedented Times, because without it, I might finally lose my goddamn mind.

Song: The Hill from Once The Musical, by Markéta Irglová
